The Dark mod finalmente disponibile nella versione 1.0!!
Dopo anni e anni di sviluppo, la squadra che ebbe in quel 2004, l'idea di sviluppare una total conversion a tema thief con il tech 4 di DooM III, ha finalmente rilasciato la versione 1.0 della loro modifica!!
Non ci sembra quasi vero, ma non stiamo sognando, Dark Mod è pronto per essere scaricato: di seguito, troverete tutti gli indirizzi utili e le spiegazioni per l'installazione. Non abbiamo capito perché l'installazione prevede il pre-download di un tool per scaricare la mod (probabilmente non sono disponibili ancora altri siti dove scaricare la mod). Quello che abbiamo capito è che bisogna scaricare il TDM updater, di seguito potremo installare la mod, in ogni caso, eccovi l'indirizzo per il download e tutte le informazioni presenti sul sito ufficiale:
Download the TDM Updater (see below for alternate download locations).
Save the file to your Doom 3 folder, i.e. C:GamesDoom3.
Extract it (into the same folder) and run the file within. The installer will connect to one of our download mirrors and start the download process.
Be patient and wait. The download will take a while.
After installation, you'll find an executable tdmlauncher.exe in your darkmod folder, i.e. C:GamesDoom3darkmodtdmlauncher.exe. Use this to start The Dark Mod.
Install TDM on Linux
You need the native version of Doom 3 installed and patched to v1.3.1, see below for download links and install instructions.
Since there is no 64 bit version of either Doom 3 or The DarkMod, on 64 bit systems you also need the 32 bit compatibility libraries installed. On some distributions like SuSE, these are included in the default installation, but on Kubuntu/Ubuntu you need to install the package called ia32-lib and all its dependencies. Otherwise, even the installer for Doom 3 will fail to run.
Create a folder ~/.doom3/darkmod in your home directory. Mind the dot in the path.
Download the Linux version of the TDM Updater and extract it to ~/.doom3/darkmod/ (see below for alternate download locations)
Make tdm_update.linux executable: chmod +x tdm_update.linux
Run the updater, it will connect to our mirrors and download the packages for you.
Start The Dark Mod using the tdmlauncher.linux binary in your ~/.doom3/darkmod folder (make it executable beforehand: chmod +x ~/.doom3/darkmod/tdmlauncher.linux).
In the first few days and weeks after release, there will be a torrent available for people who prefer not to use the updater or have connection problems.
